Who we are
clearcut.data is a single-creator channel that publishes short videos testing popular claims with public data. "clearcut.data publisher" is our own software that uploads those videos to our own Instagram and YouTube accounts.
What the software accesses
It signs in only to accounts owned by clearcut.data. It uses:
- YouTube Data API, upload permission only (
youtube.upload), to upload videos to our own channel. - Instagram API, to publish reels to our own account.
It does not access, collect, store or share data about any other person or account. It has no user sign-up, and it does not use cookies or analytics on this website.
What we store
We store our own videos, scripts and the public datasets used to make them. Login tokens for our own accounts are kept encrypted in our private hosting and are never shared.
Keeping and deleting data
- Our rendered video files are deleted automatically 30 days after upload.
- We keep only the IDs of our own published videos, so the same video is never posted twice.
- We store no data from other YouTube users or channels, so there is nothing of yours to delete. If you believe we hold any data about you, email us and we will delete it within 7 days.
- Access for our own channel can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, after which the stored login token stops working and is deleted.
YouTube and Google
clearcut.data publisher uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
